Roasted Chickpeas

Add roasted chickpeas to salads and soups or have as a snack.

 

Preparation time

5 minutes + 20 minutes cooking time


What you need

  • 1 x 400g can chickpeas

  • 2 teaspoons oil

  • Salt and pepper to taste


Method

  1. Preheat oven to 200°C.

  2. Drain and rinse chickpeas, then pat dry thoroughly with paper towels.

  3. In a small bowl, toss chickpeas with oil, salt and pepper.

  4. Lay out on an oven tray with a lip (so they don’t run everywhere). Roast chickpeas for 20 minutes, tossing them at the half-way mark.

  5. Remove from oven and set aside to cool completely.

  6. Store in an airtight container until ready to serve.


Tips

  • Add some spices or a splash of vinegar for extra flavour.
